If you’ve never been to our practice before, here are two easy routes you could take:
- Get onto Olney Laytonsville Rd and take that up into Laytonsville. Stay on that road for 5.5 miles, and when you get to the roundabout, go all the way back around to do a U-turn, then watch for us coming up fast on your right. We’re at 6856 Olney Laytonsville Rd.
- If you live farther north in Olney, you could take MD-97 north out of town, keep going straight at the traffic circle. At the next traffic circle, take the 3rd exit onto Brookeville Rd. Turn right onto Olney Laytonsville Rd, then continue to the next traffic circle and go all the way around to the 5th exit.

In 1763, Richard Brooke was granted a tract of land in what was then the Province of Maryland. Originally called Mechanicsville, the village later known as Olney was founded in 1800. It began as a predominantly agricultural area but quickly attracted artisans and craftsmen. Notably, early residents Sarah Brooke and Dr. Charles Farquhar, admirers of the English poet William Cowper, named their estate after Cowper’s hometown of Olney, England, which ultimately gave the town its current name.
